NORDIC COLD STORAGE RECOGNIZED BY COWETA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT Haz-Mat Training Courses
Atlanta, GA July 22nd, 2010 – Coweta County Fire Department recognized Nordic Cold Storage Haz-Mat Training Course. Thanks to the Nordic Cold Storage Risk Management Team, two firefighters with the Coweta County Fire Department, responding to an ammonia leak were well prepared after attending an intense Haz-Mat training course held last fall at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Assistant Fire Chief Alan Smith with the Coweta County Fire Department applauded the Nordic Cold Storage Risk Management Team for hosting the annual Haz-Mat Training Courses. He was pleased to see that two of the firefighters responding to a recent incident knew exactly what to do from the intense drills and classroom training they completed last year. One of the firefighters indicated that it was “just like the training”.
Nordic Cold Storage in conjunction with Tanner Industries, Inc., and PM HazMat Inc hold an annual three (3) day ammonia safety and emergency response training with live anhydrous ammonia releases in the Atlanta area. This program trains and helps coordinate efforts by industry personnel with the public sector personal such as local fire departments and hazardous materials response team in the Atlanta, GA area.
